JOB Description

Skill set - SQL Server 2005, 2008, IIS 6.0, 7.0, Windows Server 2000, 2008 ( 3
– 5 years experience)

 Providing SQL Server DBA and Technical support for multiple applications
with daily operation like Daily operations– SQL Clustering, Replications, Log
Shipping, Data Recovery, Restores & Backups, performance tuning, extensive
application troubleshooting of db objects (Tables, Stored Procedure, Views)
 Handling the operational tasks such as Installation of Security Updates (if
applicable)
 Maintenance tasks such as IPAK's, Account Maintenance (Passwords),
Certificates, Periodic Audits (Servers, Backups)
 Raising CRs to fix the bugs in production environment.
 Performing Database Backup/Restore activities using SQL Server and SQL Lite
Speed.
 Monitoring and Troubleshooting SQL Cluster, Log Shipping, Replication and
SQL Job related issues.
 Performing SQL Server database performance analysis and on-going
maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance.
 Maintaining and Monitoring Production, Pre-Production and Development
database server environment.
 Troubleshooting and resolving the issues in the Apps/Database.
 Synchronizing Production and UAT environments
 Monitor health of database servers, databases, performance, availability,
security, upgrades etc.
 Handling Incidents/Service Request escalations from various sources (First
Line, Second Line, Business, and Peer Teams)

 Troubleshooting various Network, Domain, Firewall, Security related issues
concerning to applications hosted on IIS, Terminal Servers and Smart Clients
gaining fairly good exposure to Infrastructure and application architecture.

 Raise Change requests for any upgrades/changes on Server Hardware/OS
configurations
 Prepare numerous Knowledge Base Articles on the application troubleshooting,
workflow troubleshooting and processes.
 Notify Application users, Downstream Systems and Business on any
planned/unplanned outages
