Job Role Work as part of team & perform validation of NPI & RTS product. Deliver the product with quality. Develop test cases around the requirements & develop test plan document Key Responsibilities QA Engineer supporting the continued design, development, and quality delivery of firmware & software applications for the Security domain products at UTC Fire & Security Write and execute test cases that conform to the technical and functional specifications for firmware and Software applications. Development & maintenance of automation scripts. Collaborate with engineers and stake holders to ensure a comprehensive set of test cases for Security domain product & enhancements. Gain knowledge of process and tools used for Test engineering team and apply them as required. Document and present test results as per the QA policies and procedures. Participate in brainstorming sessions to resolve complex technical/architectural issues. Provides QA guidance and technical support to product development team. Evaluates and recommends technologies and tools. Active participation in knowledge transfer and projects Contributes ideas on product and process improvements Participates in design review sessions. Flexible to work on manual testing and automation based on business need. Learns & Implement appropriate automation technologies to meet the short and long term goals of the company. Academic qualifications/Requirements Bachelor"s degree in Engineering with minimum 2-5 years of relevant testing experience manual or automation. Experience testing web-based software, handheld computing software, communications software, and client/server software. Must have a solid understanding of testing web-based applications Understanding of HTML, IIS(5.0 - 7.0), SOA architectures, JSON, REST services, XML/SOAP, and API testing Good coding ability in T-SQL, solid working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Ability to read and write C# and JavaScript Solid understanding of Windows operating systems and the .NET development environment Must have very good written and verbal communication skills Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Self-starting/self-motivating individual, able to plan and achieve goals with minimal supervision. Excellent organizational skills especially in leading tasks and activities of large teams. Team player mentality with strong facilitation/interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to a wide variety of cross-functional resources. Must have the ability to effectively interface with all levels of management. Can analyze both successes and failures for clues to improvement. Can handle multiple activities at once to accomplish goals. Exchanges information with appropriate people to complete work. Computer knowledge required: MS Office, Visio, MS Project Knowledge on HPQC bug tracking tool Note : It's a contract position for upto 1 year.
